Counselling

Counselling and psychotherapy often overlap and are used interchangeably. I am trained as both a counsellor and a psychotherapist and will work with you in the way that best suits your needs.

Counselling

Counselling is usually focused on more immediate issues that may be troubling them. It tends to be shorter term offers individuals the opportunity to discuss a wide variety of personal issues. It is suitable for anyone who wants help and is of relevance at a time of personal crisis or transition or talk openly about matters that are troubling them.

Psychotherapy

The goal of psychotherapy is to develop a person’s insight to how their past experiences influence their present functioning.

Often we are unable to open up or helpful to talk to friends or family, especially they are part of the problem or emotionally involved. Talking to a professional, someone who is “outside the situation” and who doesn’t have opinions about what you ‘should’ be doing, really can help. The therapy room is a safe place where you can share in confidence without fear of judgement.
